Oslo has many options for dinners and events in special surroundings.
For memorable evening events, there are lots of possibilities. Here are some examples:
Gamle Logen
The Old Masonic Lodge is Oslo's oldest and most beautiful venue for artistic and cultural events. It was originally built as a Masonic lodge in 1836, and is today an important centre for cultural events, concerts, conferences, balls and banquets for up to 450 persons.
Dinner cruise
A dinner cruise onboard a vintage sail ship on the Oslo Fjord is one of the most popular activities in the summer months. Sail among the islands and enjoy traditional food in a very charming setting. Maximum 800 persons (on 3-4 boats). See Norway Yacht Charter.
The Mini Bottle Gallery
The Mini Bottle Gallery contains the world's largest collection of miniature bottles, with 53,000 bottles exhibited in different installations in a three-storey building. Available for private functions for 50-150.
Holmenkollen
Activities are available in the Holmenkollen area both summer and winter. When you combine activities in the forest with a hot meal in a lavvu tent with open fire, it's hard to believe that you are only 20 minutes from the city. For up to 80 persons.
The Dyna Fyr Lighthouse
Oslo's most famous beacon from 1874 is the Dyna Lighthouse - in the middle of the fjord! The lighthouse is located on the skerry of Dyna right outside the Bygdøy peninsula - only five minutes by boat from the pier in the city centre. In the old days, the lighthouse keeper lived here with his family. Today, up to 45 people can have dinner here, prepared by some of Oslo's best chefs, in a truly unique setting.
DogA - Norwegian Centre for Art and Design
This fascinating venue used to be an electricity transformation station. Changing design and architecture exhibitions are available along with good meeting and conference facilities, as well as restaurant. Read more about DogA.
The Polar Ship “FRAM”
Organise a lunch or dinner onboard this impressive ship that sailed to the North and the South poles around 1900. It will create a unique setting for any event. What can your company learn from achivements of the polar vessel and its crew?
FRAM was the safe haven for some of the most famous polar explorers and adventurers. She is the strongest wooden ship ever built and still holds the records for sailing farthest north and farthest south. FRAM and the breathtaking stories from her expeditions continue to create excitement among audiences from all over the world almost 100 years after the ship retired from active duty.
There are lots of good stories to be told onboard the FRAM! Have dinner for 16 in the “Captain’s Lounge”, on deck for up to 250 people or a reseption for 400 persons.
The Viking Ship Museum
The Viking Ship Museum presents great viking ship as well as other finds from Viking tombs around the Oslo Fjord. The world's two best-preserved wooden Viking ships built in the 9th century. In addition to the boats themselves, we find small boats, sledges, a cart with exceptional ornamentation, and aslo tools, harnesses, textiles and household utensils.
