Norwegian Wood Rock Festival

Norwegian Wood is an annual 4-day rock festival held in mid June in the open-air bath Frognerbadet in Oslo. The festival programme contains both international stars like David Bowie and Roger Waters, and unknown Norwegian bands performing at a festival in Oslo for the first time.
The fact that the festival takes place in an open-air public bath creates a unique atmosphere, and if the hot summer weather kicks in, you can combine a refreshing dip in the pool with an unforgettable concert experience!

Norwegian Wood draws a broad audience – you find a dense crowd of people of all ages in the grass hill in front of the stage. There is no age limit to get in!

Through the years, the main stage has hosted artists like Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Sting, Bryan Ferry, Tori Amos and Lou Reed. While the Underwood stage gives up-and-coming Norwegian bands a chance to present themselves to the festival crowd.

On Thursday and Friday the concerts start in the afternoon, while Saturday and Sunday are filled with concerts the whole day almost until late in the evening. Friday has been established as the ”dark” day, with hard rock and metal on the programme.

Tickets
You can buy a festival pass for all four days, or just a day pass for one of the days. The days with big international artists are usually sold out long before the festival starts, so don’t hesitate too long if you want a ticket!
