Oslo World Music Festival 4-9 November

Oslo World Music Festival celebrates fifteen years this year. On 4-9 November, this year's theme, "borders", will be explored through everything from Ivorian reggae and South African hip-hop to old-fashioned Mexican music mixed with techno.

The complete festival lineup is here, and it is time to get ready for six days of world-class musicians in Oslo! The concerts will be held in various locations in Oslo, including Rockefeller, Sentrum Scene, Blå, Parkteatret, Cosmopolite, National Jazzscene, Kulturkirken Jakob and Oslo Concert Hall.

The final additions to the festival include Africa's biggest reggae artist, Tiken Jah Fakloy from the Ivory Coast, and Tumi & the Volume from South Africa, who deliver hip-hop with a funk and jazz accent.

Also among the new names are Emir Kusturica & The No Smoking Orchestra from Serbia. Kusturica has won two Golden Palms for his films portraying ex-Jugoslavia, and since 1986 he has been playing with gypsy-techno-rock-band The No Smoking Orchestra. Singer and actor Victoria Abril is known from Pedro Almodovar's films, but in Oslo she will perform French love songs with a group of star flamenco musicians.

Other additions to the lineup: Dam (Palestine), Oslo Kammerkor med gjester (Norway/India), Kardes Turkuler (Turkey), Niko Valkeapää (Sápmi), Skaidi (Sápmi/Norway), Zizek Urban Beats Club (Buenos Aires) og Arild Andersen & Kirsten Bråten Berg (Norway).

Previously confirmed artists: Mariza (Portugal), Nortec Collective + Banda (Mexico), Concha Buika (Spain), Omara Portuondo (Cuba), Amadou & Mariam (Mali), Etta Scollo (Italy), Besh o Drom (Hungary), Etran Finatawa (Niger), Harold Lopez Nussa (Cuba), Mahwash (Afghanistan), Mahmood Ahmed (Ethiopia) og Juan Carlos Caseres (Argentina).

If you buy full-price tickets for two concerts, you get a third one for only NOK 25. This offer is only available at Norwegian post offices.

Tickets available at Billettservice and phone 815 33 133.
