The port is in its largest ever restructuring programme, and the years ahead will bring major changes both to the look of the city and to the port itself. Commercial port operations will broadly speaking be concentrated in the southern section of Oslo Port District, where the Ormsund facility is already among the most modern container terminals in Scandinavia. Further development of this area will make for more concentrated, rational port operations.The aim is to create a more area-efficient port – both for port users and for the City of Oslo.
