A summer evening in the park

5 Up
Oslo is located on 60 degrees North latitude, but thanks to the Gulf Stream the temperature during summer can reach 30 degrees Celsius. During the last days of June we have nearly 19 hours of sun light per day! A great way to spend a summer evening is barbequing in one of Oslo's many parks. In Oslo there is a park for every taste. If you like to do sports, play some football, badminton or try the local version of "kubbe", a game brought to Norway by the Vikings from the Mediterranean more than thousand years ago, the Vigeland Sculpture Park is the right choice for you. The park is most famous for being the world's largest sculpture park with it's 214 sculptures comprising of 758 nude figures. Another possibility is the park at St.Hanshaugen from where you have a great view of the city. If you want to stay close to the pubs and bars at Grünerløkka you can barbeque at Grünerparken, locally known as Kubaparken.
