IKM is a museum that works to heighten the understanding of, and respect for for cultural diversity. We collect, document and communicate knowledge focusing on immigration history and cultural changes in the Norwegian society. IKM aims to present a wide varity of visual art and cultural traditions. IKM is an arena for artists and performers, and a centre for professionals and citizens concerned with cultual diversity. Many of our exhibitions can be booked as touring exhibitions. Children and teenagers are a primary audience.
IKM offers guided tours of the exhibitions in: Arabic, English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Bosnian, Urdu and Swahili.
