Previous conferences

Here is a list of some of the major conferences that have taken place in Oslo.

Oslo has a long tradition as a congress city. As early as in 1936 the International Mathematical Union organised their congress here. Dinner was served on board one of the ships of the Norwegian America Line, which sailed out to the lighthouse Færder Fyr and back. Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Märtha were honored guests on board.

Later, many small and large meetings have been held in Oslo. The largest scientific congress was in 2010 - the 20th European Meeting on Hypertension - with 6,500 participants.
