Munch Museum (Munch-museet)

Edvard Munch has a unique position among Nordic painters and is considered a pioneer in expressionism. The Munch Museum's collection, left to the city of Oslo by Edvard Munch, consists of a large number of paintings, graphical prints and drawings. By constantly changing the exhibitions, the museum presents the variety in his production.

The museum offers audio tours in Norwegian and in English and a permanent documentary exhibition.
The Munch Museum also has a shop and a café.

Guided tours on Sundays at 1 pm.
Guided tours in English at 1 pm every day in July and August.
Films about Edvard Munch's life and art on weekdays 10.10 am-3.50 pm and on weekends 11.10 am-4.50 pm.

Free entrance with the Oslo Pass.
Free access to the Munch Museum 1 October 2009 to 31 March 2010.

CLOSED: 1 January, 1 May, 17 May, 24-25 December and 31 December. Open all days during Easter and Whitsun (incl. Easter Monday and Whit Monday).

Note! The museum is closed due to exhibition changes during the following periods in 2010:
1-21 January, 19-29 April and 27 September-7 October.
The shop and café are open during exhibition change periods, except on Mondays.
