OSL Second Largest Airport in Scandinavia
Norway's hub airport reports an amazing growth in 2007, and confirms its position as the second largest airport in Scandinavia.
19 Million Passengers in 2007
OSL had the fastest growth of all the large airports in Scandinavia in 2007. OSL had 19 million passengers, a growth of 7.8%. This has strengthened OSL’s position as Scandinavia’s second largest airport with more than one million more passengers than Arlanda. Kastrup is still Scandinavia’s largest airport with 21.4 million passengers. The cabin factor, which is the share of occupied seats, was 72% for the year as a whole. This is an increase of 3% from 2006.
“The growth in 2007 is due to a good economy and a desire to travel even during the traditional low seasons,” says Knut Stabæk, marketing manager for traffic development. In 2007 OSL had direct connections to 120 destinations. This is 15 more than in the previous year. New year-round routes were established to Edinburgh, Nottingham/East Midlands and Antalya.
