Drøbak and Oscarsborg

A real gem at the Oslofjord, 50 kilometres from Oslo.

Idyllic, charming atmosphere and small, white painted wooden houses - this is the former fisherman´s village Drøbak.

Drøbak

Situated at the Eastern coast of the Oslofjord about 50 kilometres from Oslo, Drøbak can easily be reached by bus or car. Spend a relaxing day strolling along the narrow streets, visiting handicraft shops, small art galleries and cozy cafeterias. The Christmas House "Julehuset", the Aquarium and the House of the Newspaper cartoonists are recommended to see.

Oscarsborg Fortress
Take the small ferry from Drøbak to the impressive Oscarsborg Fortress. The fortress served as defence facility for the Oslofjord region for a long time. Today, the fortress is a museum and a historic place to visit. Every summer, the fortress is used as arena for opera and conference performances.

The idyllic island is only 30 minutes away from Oslo, ferry departures approx. every hour from Drøbak. Oscarsborg Hotel & Spa offers excellent conference facilities for up to 150 people, and 89 hotel rooms in the former military camp facilities. This would be a unique venue for this year’s Christmas party. We recommend dinner at the Main Fort, which dates back to 1853.
