Fridtjof Nansen (1861-1930), the famous Norwegian polar explorer, scientist, diplomat and humanist was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1922 for his efforts for helping refugees and prisoners of war in Russia and other European countries. Be inspired by his work visiting the Nobel Peace Centre.
The Ski Museum in Oslo shows a permanent exhibition of the polar voyages. Svartskog, the home of Roald Amundsen, is situated close to Oslo. Both the house and its interior decoration is preserved in its original condition and often open to the public.
