Bærums Verk to Fornebu - An experience with bicycle or on foot

Start the tour in the charming Bærumske Ironworks from 1610. Today you will find over 50 shops, restaurants, handicraft, art galleries and workshops including a family-friendly park area. The tour continues on cycle paths along the road surrounded by green fields and small lakes. Next sights on your way to Sandvika will be Franzefoss - a waterfall in the Sandvika River. In the summertime this is a meeting point to watch the salmon jump in the cascading river.

After ten minutes you will arrive at Sandvika city with cafés and shopping center. A 100 meter long bridge connects Sandvika with Kalvøya - a small island in the inner Oslo Fjord. If you bring your swimsuit this is a perfect pit stop to cool down before heading further on the route to Lysaker and Fornebu.
On your way you will pass Holtekilen and Høvikodden. At Høvikodden you find Norway’s largest collection of international modern art at the Henie Onstad Art Centre.

Continue through residential areas to Lysaker and Fridtjof Nansen’s house Polhøgda. The house is today a place of work and is not open to the public, but the large garden, including the grave of the famous Norwegian polar explorer, is always accessible.
End the tour at Fornebu and Café Odonata in the former control tower at the old airport.
