Banks
Most banks in Oslo are open from 09.00 to around 15.30 on weekdays and closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Some banks are open until 17.00 on Thursdays.
Credit cards
Visa, Eurocard, MasterCard, Diners Club and American Express are widely accepted cards in Norway, but do note that some supermarkets and petrol stations do not accept credit cards.
Travellers’ cheques
Travellers’ cheques should be bought before departure. You can cash your travellers’ cheque in an exchange bureau or at the Tourist Information Centre by City Hall. Travellers’ cheques are generally not accepted in stores.
ATMs
ATMs are to be found around banks and in many busy public places, such as at the airports, in train stations, around banks and in shopping centers.
