The Lommedalen Museum Railway Line (Lommedalsbanen) is a small railway line in the idyllic forest of Lommedalen valley just outside Oslo. The line has three stations which are served by a steam-hauled museum train.
The gauge is 600 mm and the line is only 700 metres long, and Lommedalsbanen only runs during summer and a few days in December with diesel engine or steam engine.
The locomotives and cars have been collected from industrial, defense and constuction lines from all over Norway. The museum line opened in 1981 and is the main site for the preservation of 600 mm railway rolling stock in Norway.
Directions from the bus stop Bykrysset in Lommedalen: Take Kampeveien and then Tolverudveien for one mile (1,6 km). Follow the signs.
