East meets North: For more than 800 years, storytellers, researchers, musicians and poets have been inspired by Rumi, a 13th-century Persian poet, jurist, theologian and Sufi mystic.
It has been said that Rumi liked to have parties with entertainment in the forms of poetry, dance, music and debates. The annual Rumi Festival was created in the spirit of these parties, and this year's festival will feature modernised and explosive traditional music from Kazakhstan, rare musician meetings, dervish dancing and Persian classical music.
This festival is held at Riksscenen in Schous Kulturbryggeri at Grünerløkka.
