Shopping centres in the city centre
On a rainy day or a cold winter day, it is tempting to stay indoors. In Oslo you find several big shopping centres downtown, so you can get everything you need under one roof:
Next to Oslo Central Station you find Byporten Shopping, and across the street Oslo City, which is Oslo's biggest shopping centre. In the next block towards Storgata, you find Gunerius.
In the other end of Karl Johans gate you find Paleet, and down by the harbour is Aker Brygge.
There are also two big department stores very centrally located; Glasmagasinet by the Cathedral, and Steen & Strøm between the Cathedral and the Parliament.
