Located in peaceful surroundings one hour west of Oslo, Blaafarveværket offers traditional Christmas foods, exhibitions and great gift ideas.
The café serves Christmas dinners, rice pudding, waffles, Christmas porridge and Christmas cookies. Blaafarveværket's three shops all have exfellent gift selections: The Blue shop offers cobalt coloured glass, the General store has candy and a large variety of other products, and the Gemstone and Jewellery shop has a unique selection of gifts. There is also a Christmas workshop for children on weekends.

The Christmas Fair at the Norwegian Folk Museum is a popular tradition among both tourists and locals. The Christmas market has over 100 old-fashioned stalls where you can purchase homemade crafts, Christmas decorations, cakes and other treats.
The museum's cafés are decorated for the holidays and serve coffee, gingerbread cookies and other Norwegian Christmas specialities. In the decorated houses you can see how Norwegians have celebrated Christmas through the years. You can also visit Santa's workshop and enjoy choral music and folk dancing.

On weekends before Christmas you can visit the Christmas market around Blå at Grünerløkka. Here you can find knit wear, jewellery, ceramics, glass, wool, clothes, toys, paintings, bags etc. The rest of the year there is a Sunday market in the same place.
