Embrace the cold: The world's winter capital offers great choices for outdoor fun.
These were the first World Snowboarding Championships since 1999 run by the World Snowboard Federation and the snowborders themselves. The championships produced four world champions: in slopestyle and halfpipe for men and women. In addition to the world championships events, on 17 February there was a spectacular event in Homenkollen with a quarterpipe competition including a highest air competition. Watch videos from the events!
Kelly Clark, Iouri Podladtchikov, Spencer O'Brien and Chas Guldemond won the gold medals in Oslo.
The people behind the championships were the organisers of The Arctic Challenge (TAC), in cooperation with the Norwegian Snowboard Federation and Oslo Winter Park. Every year TAC draws some of the world's best snowboarders. In 2012 the event took a break to make room for the World Championships, but in 2013 it's TAC as usual!
