Winter Walks
Oslo Guidebureau offers guided walking tours in the city in the winter season. The tours are conducted in Norwegian and English. In December there are Christmas Walks every weekend. After new Year’s there are Winter Walks every day until Easter.
Tickets can be bought directly from the guide, or at the Tourist Information Centres in Oslo.
The regular Winter Walks (January-Easter) are free with the Oslo Pass.
On the Christmas Walks, the Oslo Pass allows you a 20 % discount.
CHRISTMAS WALKS, 28 Nov.-28 Dec., 2008:
Friday: Akershus Fortress and Kvadraturen
Saturday: Ibsen, Munch and Christiania Bohemians
Sunday: In the footsteps of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate
WINTER WALKS 2 Jan.-5 April, 2009:
Monday: From the roof of the Opera House to Kvadraturen.
Tuesday: Guided tour by an “upper class lady” of the 19th century
Wednesday: Stories and Secrets at the Akershus Fortress
Thursday: City Hall, Norwegian Food and Tjuvholmen
Friday: Ibsen, Munch, and the Christiania Bohemians
Saturday: The Vigeland Museum and Vigeland Sculpture Park
Sunday: Along the river Akerselva
Tours may be subject to change at short notice, and require comfortable walking shoes and warm clothes. All walking at own risk, sidewalks may be slippery.
