This idyllic little house is a great place to stop on your walk along the river Akerselva. The name Hønse-Lovisas hus ("Hen-Lovisa's house") comes from a literary character.
The house was built in 1800 as a sawmiller's house, and today it is a café and cultural meeting place, where the arts and crafts of today meet tradition and history of the past.
The shop has handmade arts and crafts for sale, and the café serves great coffee, delicious cakes and simple lunches.
