Deichmanske bibliotek is Oslo's main library, with reading room, children's department, music department and newspaper room.
The library has computers with Internet access for public use.
Deichmanske library has local libraries in many of Oslo's suburbs: Bjerke, Bøler, Bjørnholt, Furuset, Gamle Oslo, Grünerløkka, Holmlia, Lambertseter, Majorstuen, Nordtvet, Oppsal, Romsås, Røa, Smestad, Stovner and Torshov.
The explosion in Oslo on 22 July damaged the main Deichman library, especially the main entrance, which will take some time to rebuild. There is a temporary entrance on the west side of the building.
