Studentersamfundet / Chateau Neuf
The Norwegian Students' Society is Norway's oldest and most important students' society. The society is located at Chateau Neuf, a huge concrete block to the south of Blindern Campus. Chateau Neuf provides various activities for students, and is run by students. Chateau Neuf is a place for recreation, entertainment, personal development and socialising.
Chateau Neuf has two bars that are open on a daily basis, BokCaféen (The Book Café) and Glassbaren (The Glass Bar), as well as one of Oslo's greatest concert venues, Betong. Furthermore, Chateau Neuf has a cinema and two theatre venues. Glassbaren is open through the summer holidays.
Chateau Neuf is run by students. The students are organized into different voluntary unions, each with their own distinct responsibilities and activities.
