The Winter Capital of the World!

Welcome to the Nordic WSC 2011
On the 25th of May 2006, Norway and Oslo were awarded the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 at the FIS Congress held in the Portuguese city of Vilamoura. Norway received 12 out of 16 votes, thereby beating Zakopane in Poland and Val di Fiemme in Italy.
The application committee consisted of the Norwegian Ski Federation, the Federation for the Promotion of Skiing and the City of Oslo. The Nordic World Ski Championships will be held at Holmenkollen in Oslo in February/March 2011.
The WSC 2011 will be a sports and spectator festival which will enthuse the whole country. In addition to organising and hosting the best World Ski Championships in Nordic disciplines ever, the event will also give Norway and Oslo long-term benefits.

Oslo Winter Park Tryvann
Tryvann Vinterpark is located at the top of Holmenkollen, 20 minutes from the centre of oslo. Here you will find have 14 slopes and 6 lifts as well as facilities providing everything from a special area for children and beginners to a prepared terrain park and challenging tracks of international competition standard. The longest run is 1400 meters and the drop 381 meters. A powerful snow cannon system and an altitude of 500 meters above sea level ensure snow from the beginning of December until April!
