Voici une liste des principales conférences qui ont été organisées à Oslo.
Oslo a une longue tradition de ville de congrès. Dès 1936, l’Union mathématique internationale y organisa en effet son congrès. Un dîner fut servi à bord d’un des bateaux de la Compagnie américano-norvégienne, pendant que celui-ci faisait l’aller-retour jusqu’au phare de Færder. Le Prince héritier Olav et la Princesse héritière Märtha avaient été invités à bord.
Depuis, de nombreuses conférences plus ou moins grandes ont été organisées à Oslo. Le plus important congrès scientifique s’est tenu en 2010 - le 20è Congrès européen sur l’hypertension - avec 6 500 participants.
