Arrive in Oslo in Style

Private train company UnionsExpressen is now offering daily departures between Stockholm and Oslo in beautifully renovated 1960s trains. The journey takes a little more than five hours, connecting the capitals of Norway and Sweden. The rates start at NOK 590 one way (appx EUR 75).

Travel to Oslo in UnionsExpressen's deep and comfortable seats, enjoying wireless internet and power outlets, fine dining – and why not a glass of champagne..?

- We wanted something comfortable and stylish, inspired by Blue Train and Rovos Rail in South Africa and the Orient Express, according to John Wintherbo, one of the people behind the UnionsExpressen initiative.

In the train's elegant restaurant coach, there are no coffee machines or snack bars. Instead you can eat well and affordable from the à la carte menu and choose between excellent wines and champagnes. The most expensive main course is only 145 Swedish kroner, and breakfast and lunch is also served.

On the way between Stockholm and Oslo, UnionsExpressen stops at Södertälje, Hallsberg and Karlstad in Sweden as well as in Kongsvinger and Lillestrøm in Norway. The trains depart from Stockholm at 4 pm every day except Saturday and from Oslo at 7.17 am every day. Rates start at approximately EUR 75 one-way.

And nobody will weigh in your luggage…

Tickets are available at UnionsExpressen or in the trains.
