Oscarshall

King Oscar I's small country palace built in 1847-1852 in English Gothic style.
In the mid-19th century King Oscar I had the pleasure palace of Oscarshall built on rising ground above the innermost arm of the Oslo fjord. Soon afterwards it was sold to the State, but has ever since been at the King´s disposal. Regarded as Norway´s neo-Gothic showpiece and a monument to Norwegian art of the period. Terraces with fountains at different levels lead down to the sea.

2006-2009: CLOSED for the public due to renovations.
