Soak is a new Norwegian bikini label established by Amy Vidler and Mathilde Ramfelt. Amy and Mathilde met through friends and realised they had some common interests; design, travelling, warm weather and of course, bikinis! They decided that if Norway doesn't have summer all year round, they would bring the summer to Norway! So they began designing a swimwear collection for summer 2008, which has now found its way into Oslo shops like Little Miss T and Babel.

The Soak label is based on a combination of sophisticated and quirky designs. Soak's debut collection features good shapes mixed with interesting colours and details inspired by the refined Scandinavian design and the fun Australian beach culture. The styles are designed to flatter a variety of body shapes and to feel comfortable whether you might be sunbathing or being a little more active.

Soak bikinis are handmade right here in Oslo, making it the first brand of designer swimwear made specifically for the Norwegian market. The bikinis will be available all year round by Ordering Online or by Phone Ordering. All styles are sold as separates so you can mix and match to find the perfect bikini for you. See our Design Your Bikini section here. You can also buy a selection of our bikinis at two Grunerløkka boutiques during the summer months.

About The Designers

Amy is Australian and grew up in Queensland fully immersed in the famous Australian beach culture and relaxed lifestyle. She has been drawing, and designing since she was a young child. Her mum taught her how to sew at a young age and she always had a 'project' in the wings. In 2001 Amy studied Fine Art at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. In 2002 she began a Bachelor of Design at the Queensland College of Art, and moved to Norway after graduating in 2005.

Mathilde is educated as a Design Technican majoring in Fashion at Teko Center Denmark, in December 2004. After finishing her education she moved to Copenhagen, where she took a course in mens pattern making and had a studio shop. Mathilde has also one year program in Design and Dressmaking at the Faculty of Art in Oslo. Mathilde also studied to be a Make-up Artist at NISS in 2006.
