We started our day in Oslo at the Viking Ship Museum, which has 3 Viking Ships from around 800 and other artifacts. Everything in the Museum was dug up from a 834 burial mound and is considered the most well preserved find from the Viking Age, the ships were very big! Next we walked over to the Kon-Tiki Museum. We had no idea what to expect but it turns out Kon-Tiki was the name of the raft boat Thor Heyerdahl used to cross the Pacific Ocean. Next we went to the Nobel Peace Center where we spent a long time in the main exhibition about this year’s recipient, Liu Xiaobo. His story is just fascinating as was the discussion about China. Finally, we went to the Opera house to check out the night time cityscape. The building and the view was just amazing.
