“People were most helpful and friendly and we were happy to stay in the city centre close to the sights. We didn't get our wake up call, for which we asked and which had been promised to us on our last morning. Fortunately we woke up on time (6:30), otherwise we might have missed our plane. Besides that the hotel was fine.”

“The Thon Hotel Munch was great value.They let us put baggage in luggage room at check in and check out and it helped us get more time to explore oslo. They have great rooms with view of city. Rooms are very clean and reasonably spacious considering you are in Oslo. Free wireless internet and free break fast are good. The break fast has a good spread of cold and hot options. Free coffee at reception. If you did not bring your computer there is a computer near the reception for use too. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is located close to Karl Johan gate and you could pretty much walk to all the happening places. The oslo package gives you free transport. If your legs tire jump on on the buses or trams too. Oslo itself is an amazing city. We underestimated the time needed to explore it. Keep at least three days. We had two and will have to come again. The fjord cruise, akershus castle, oslo dom, radushet and reptile park are not to be missed.Also great are the hommerskollen ski jump and vigeland sculture park. The nobel peace center can be passed unless your are really into it. The Oslo SAS flybussen is expensive at 150 NKK one way price but given the fact that the airport is almost an hour away it is ok. Get off at the Scandinavia hotel to get to Thon hotel Munch. If you have a lot of luggage hire a taxi and costs about 150 NKK to Munch. We used Oslo taxi. Beware of the multiple steps you have to climb or go down if you have to lug a lot of bags. Food in Oslo outside touristy places is not that bad. I was surprised to get pizzas and spaghetti for 40 euros equivalent for four of us.”

“Thon hotels is a big chain and they have hotels to suit pockets of everyone. Thon Munch is a budget hotel and thats what they clearly mention - if you expect 5 star facilities - you'll be disappointed. But great value for money, good breakfast, extremely friendly staff. Definitely recommend this hotel to people on budget - considering everything in Oslo is so expensive.”
