The National Museum of Medicine displays an interesting collection of equipment, books and documents used by physicians, healers and quaks from the 19th century up to the present time.
The main exhibition explains the ways in which people's lives have changed over the last 150 years as a result of improvements in public health, medicine and healthcare. You will be able to look at how improved living conditions and medical advances help us to live around 50 years longer than we did in 1840. Spend some time exploring how sufferers from cholera lived and discover some of the strange treatments available.
Tickets to the Museum of Science and Technology are also valid for the National Museum of Medicine, and the museums keep the same opening hours.
Free entrance with the Oslo Pass.
