City surprise

“There are a load of hotels in Oslo city centre and I had lumped the Scandic ones with Thon as not very exicting and a bit shabby. However, finding my trip changed and having to book on the spot, I went into Oslo Tourist Office and was recommended the Byporten, literally next door. I was pleasantly surprised, not expecting much for a railway station hotel. Clean, quiet, lovely staff and a good sleep. All for only 700 NOK - a real bargain.”

“I requested a simple thing like a wake up call and it was not done. I also told the reception it was cold, she said she would organise an electric heater and did not. Please do not contact me again as i am very dissapointed in my stay.”

Famille belge à Oslo janvier 2011

“Super séjour à Oslo. La ville est magnifique sous la neige. L'hôtel est vraiment très bien situé par rapport aux transports en commun. Nous avions une grande chambre pour nous quatre. Le petit déjeuner est vraiment exceptionnel: large choix de toutes sortes, ce qui permet même de se passer de dîner! Les enfants ont adoré. Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié le fait de pouvoir faire nos sandwiches (packet lunch) pour 40 NOK par personne, ce qui est vraiment intéressant vu le coût de la vie en Norvège. Nous avions pris l'Oslo pass pour 72 heures, ce qui est vraiment très pratique pour se déplacer dans Oslo et pour visiter certains musées gratuitement. Les transports en commun sont d'une grande facilité et très pratiques.”
