Down by the harbour you find the Akershus fortress. Protected by canons and walls you also find the Akershus castle in the fortress area. This is a small but beautiful castle (with original furniture). If you look closely on the ground in the courtyard you will see that the bricks are different; that is - some of the bricks marks where a big, and haunted, tower used to be. Many of the medieval kings did horrible things by the fortress and therefore several rooms in the castle are haunted. The most interesting though is the story of a dog which haunts a steep tunnel from the outside of the castle to the courtyard.
