Every year, on December 10, Oslo gets the attention of the whole world and of all the big media as the Nobel Peace Prize laureate comes to Oslo to receive the Nobel Peace prize. The ceremony is at the Oslo City Hall and at around 7 pm you can see the Nobel peace prize winner waving at the crowd that attended the traditional torch parade in the city center from the balcony of the Grand Hotel in Karl Johans gate. The Nobel Peace Center usually has an exhibition on the work of the Nobel Peace prize winner.
This year the US President Barack Obama came to Oslo, and the Nobel Peace Center has a very interesting exhibition called A Call to Action. Though the security level was very high on December 10, the city could offer a lot of things to do! I particularly enjoyed the exhibition at the Nobel Peace Center and the traditional torch parade that started from Youngstorget.
