My favourite library in Oslo!
About 10 minutes from Karl Johan st. you can find the Deichmanske public library.
It’s a building from 1785, with great workout possibilities as there are a lot of stairs to reach the building! Get to the 2nd floor to the main area of the library, it’s a massive hall with bookshelves rising 9 meters on the walls.
They have all kinds of books in several languages as well as comic books, newspapers, each have their own room or section, so it’s very easy to find.
There is also a large selection of movies in English and other languages.
Back on the first floor is the music section, there you’ll find a large selection of CDs, Instrument courses, magazines and LPs.
On the top floor there is a nice café.
When you are in Oslo, and need to check the internet quickly (and for free) or just read a newspaper or a magazine, Deichmanske Bibliotek is the best choice.
