A perfect Friday afternoon and evening in Oslo is to eat out, that means not necessarily at an expensive restaurant, but in one of the many smaller restaurants and cafés around in the city. Around Majorstua there are many small restaurants (in Kirkeveien); in the Grunerløkka area, the Grønland area and even at Frogner there are some small and nice restaurants. One of my favourites is Rust which is nearby the royal palace (Hegdehausveien 22).
Then after dinner I love to go out. The atmosphere is usually more relaxed on Fridays but the music and dancing is still great!
Places like Gloria Flames, Dattera til hagen (Grønland), Parkteateret (Grunerløkka), Skaugum (the backyard to Palace Grill, Solli Plass nearby the harbour and Frogner) and Fugazi (Tordenskiolds gate nearby the city hall) are great places to hang out on Fridays.
