One of the things I love about Oslo is the special location between the fjord and the forest. There are many possibilities to do sports.
During the winter I love going cross-country skiing in the forest. Some of the tracks have lights so you can go skiing even if it’s dark. I often go skiing from Sognsvann and up in the forest. There you can see the moonlight shine on the treetops and the landscape is covered by snow. It’s a beautiful and calming experience, and I feel that I’m all alone in Winter Wonderland!
In the summer I go cycling in Nordmarka. On sunny days the temperature is up to 25 degrees or more! Exhausted from cycling up the hills it’s lovely to take a swim in one of the lakes.
I think the beautiful nature is what makes Oslo so special. I recommend everyone to go hiking or skiing in the forest- it’s the perfect activity for a Sunday or a three days camping trip.
