My favourite restaurants are in the district Grønland and Grunerløkka. Mucho Mas for mexican food, or a real american burger/italian pizza in the restaurants around Olaf Ryes plass. Dattera til Hagen have a nice atmosphere, especially in the charming backyard.
Yaya's restaurant in Vika or Majorstuen have great thai food.
For special occasions I prefer to go to the Ekeberg restaurant- slightly more expensive but the view over the city is beautiful.
Olivia's is my favourite italian restaurant- at Aker Brygge or Hegdehaugsveien. It's worth the cost, in my opinion.
