Even if I've lived in Oslo for the last 8 years, I've also visited Oslo several times as a tourist before I moved here. As all students in the world I didn't have a large budget (actually sometimes I didn't have a budget at all) and when I came to Oslo for the first time I stayed at Haraldsheim Youth Hostel, located 20 min. by tram from the city center. This hostel is still pretty much the same these days: cheap, clean, easy to reach by public transport, and popular among students and young people from all over the world. It gave me the chance to visit Oslo in a cheaper way(thanks also to the shops and the restaurants/cafés in Grønland and Grünerløkka)and I got the chance to get known with cool people from all over the world. I still book Haraldsheim or other hostels or pensions like the Anker Hostel or the Cochs Pensjonat in the city center when some of my friends living abroad come to visit me.
