The Ekeberg hill has got one of the best views of OSLO. Less than 2 kilometres from Jernbanetorget, it’s in walking distance from the city centre. You can also get there by taking the tramway 18 or 19 towards Ljabru and stop at Sjømannskolen. The Ekeberg restaurant, located on the left side of the tramlines, is a great place to enjoy the view over Bjørvika, the new opera and the islands in the Oslofjord. The functionalist restaurant was built in 1929, and after being closed for a long period, it was refurbished, modernised and reopened in 2005. Make the most of the good weather; sit outside for a cup of coffee or a drink. On the glazed veranda, they serve delicious gourmet cuisine.
