The bars around Youngstorget

An afternoon in the Oslo city center…for me it means a chat and a beer with friends and colleagues in one of the cafés near Youngstorget! The square has a huge political significance for Oslo and Norway: many political parties have their offices here, and it’s here that the major demonstrations still take place. This square is also the symbol of the Labour Movement! I personally love to spend an afternoon or an evening at Internasjonalen, Café Mono, Fisk og Vilt, Café Sør, Hell’s Kitchen or (in the week-ends) the Villa. All are located a few meters from each other, all with great music, live concerts and dj-sets! All these places can be enjoyed in the afternoon as well, for a cup of coffee or a beer. Oh, the square hosts also markets (including a Christmas Market), events and concerts (like the night Vålerenga Football won the Norwegian Cup in 2008)
