My girlfriend and I were in Oslo two weeks ago. We were pretty spontaneous so we did not book an accommodation. At the Tourist Information at the city hall told us that there were nearly no more rooms in Oslo except one private accommodation a little outside at Mr. Lindstroms house at the famous Holmenkollen.
Mr. Lindstroms typical Norwegian house offered us not only a room for our visit but a whole apartment with a huge kitchen, a little garden and a porch. In addition we had a fantastic view at Oslo and the Oslo Fjord. Overwhelming!
If you read this article and think about ever coming to Oslo – try to get your accommodation at Mr. Lindstrom house. Not only will you get a nice place to relax after your exhausting city tours but you will also get to enjoy the kindness of Norway by having Mr. Lindstrom as your hostess.
Maybe she will even play her harp for you if you are nice to her.
