The Themes of Oslo

The Blue, the Green and the City in Between
This is actually a true story from one of our guides: "While strolling around Oslo on a clear winters day, we started out at the Continental Hotel near the Royal Palace, made our way to the harbour, across the Akershus Castle and Fortress, past the new Opera, the Central Railway Station and then up the main street Karl Johan back to the hotel. While standing there, opposite the hotel, we chatted for a while before he looked up and said: "That's almost identical to the palace at the other end of town!""
For some, Oslo is a surprisingly small city. But although the city centre itself is relatively compact, you can find everything from a pulsating and modern city to spacious forest areas, parks and suburbian areas, the fjord and more than 300 lakes within the city boundaries.
