Medicinal plants from a time gone by
Right across the road at the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History, you can take a walk in the herbal garden by the pharmacy and find medicinal plants mentioned in old norse medical books, the old sagas and traditional medicine.
Thanks to King Karl Johan, large parts of Bygdø is a public park, meticulously designed with trails, alleys, exotic trees and bushes, monuments and vantage points.
Royal park open to the public
The royal summer palace Oscarshall is surrounded by a romantic park with memorials and a beautiful view. While you`ll need a ticket to enter Oscarshall, the park is open to the public and free to visit.
