Henrik Ibsen
, second only to Shakespeare in the world of playwrights, spent his last years in Oslo. Traces of his life here still remain: his last apartment at the Ibsen Museum, his famous daily walking route – today paved with Ibsen quotes, his regular hangout Grand Café, and his burial site at Oslo's memorial cemetery

Oslo’s National Theatre, which Ibsen was involved in founding, has staged Ibsen's plays almost yearly for more than a century, making sure that his sharp insights keep challenging us.
