Where in Oslo do you go to relax?

I spend a lot of time in nature, and I set up hiking itineraries for myself to learn even more about my home town. I also appreciate saunas quite a lot, and I am a member of the Sauna Association, Oslo Badstuforening. I prefer their wood fired sauna for the nice smell and pleasant feeling they give.

Where can you find the best coffee in Oslo?

Papegøye at Grønland (previously known as Neongrut) does a lot of fun things with coffee. Orange juice combined with coffee was surprisingly tasty.

You've forgotten to ask about the best place for hot chocolate, though! That's Cocoabar Cafe and Eatery. They offer many unusual flavours within the hot chocolate genre, such as raspberry.

Where do you get the best pizza?

Who would have thought that beet pizza could be so yummy? They serve it at Peloton, a pizza place in Torggata, run by one of my former neighbours. They've also branched out with a second restaurant at Skøyen. I also appreciate Vaterland. Not only do they serve a good pizza, they also play great music and offer a good selection of drinks. Going for a Margherita? Skrenten is the place to go. Their Margherita is rich and flavourful, despite its few ingredients.

More of Regine's food favourites

Regine has got many recommendations for a great range of cuisines and dishes.

How do you spend a perfect Sunday in Oslo?

I love wandering around at markets. The Sunday market in Ingensgate is one of my favourites. There's also Floke marked, which is organised either at Prindsen Hage or Kulturhuset. I don't necessarily go there to buy something. I like to be inspired by other creative people.

Where is the best place to go dancing?

I like to combine dancing and music bingo. The best music bingo in town is Singing at the Disco, at Duckpin. They combine the music with the lights inside the room. They'll also give you an extra bingo card if you've dressed up according to the theme of the night.

What time of year is the best in Oslo?

I am a spring person, I love to see how Oslo blooms. We've got so many beautiful green spaces. Take a walk in the Botanical Garden! There are also events all around Oslo celebrating the cherry trees in bloom.

Some more of Regine's Oslo-favourites

Best view?

Vettakollen.

Nicest neighbourhood?

St. Hanshaugen, Adamstuen and Kampen. To me, Oslo is made up of old houses and beautiful courtyards.

Best area for a walk?

Ekebergparken. It combines nature, great views and art.

Best place for a swim?

Hvervenbukta is well designed, and there's a very charming beach pavillion there.

Best museum?

The museum of Cultural History, Folkemuseet. I love walking around in history, watching the staff dressed up in traditional costumes while demonstrating, as well as the animal life.
