Planning a story about Oslo?
We ask all media who would like assistance with their Oslo story/trip to Oslo to fill in the below form so that we can evaluate how we best can help you.
Before you submit the form, we kindly ask you to read the following information.
We are happy that you are considering covering Oslo in your publication, and we hope that both you and your readers will be inspired to explore our city.
Basic guidelines
Please contact us well in advance – at least four weeks before your trip.
As Oslo’s official destination marketing organisation, VisitOSLO is committed to sustainable destination management and responsible tourism. We therefore ask all visiting journalists to reflect these values in their coverage of our city.
We especially welcome stories that highlight off-season travel to Oslo – in winter, spring or autumn – as a way to support more balanced and sustainable tourism year-round.
We prioritise commissioned journalists and media with strong editorial relevance and outreach in our key international markets (mainly Scandinavia and Europe, other markets are considered on a case-by-case basis).
Collaboration
For selected journalists, we usually assist with accommodation, local activities and tips/contacts, and we offer the 24-hour guest/media Oslo Pass, which includes free entry to most museums and attractions and free access to public transport in Oslo and the surrounding region. Other costs such as meals may be covered if agreed upon in advance.
Please note:
- We do not cover expenses for taxis or rental cars. We encourage you to explore Oslo on foot, by bike or by using our excellent public transport system whenever possible.
- We do not sponsor family members or others joining your press trip unless they have an editorial angle in your story.
- If you are looking for support with travel to Oslo or wish to combine your visit with other destinations in Norway, we encourage you to contact Visit Norway’s PR desk.
