Guidelines for using the registration form

Are you registering an event in the What’s On calendar? On this page, you can read through the guidelines for using the registration form.

Published : 30.07.2025

The information on visitoslo.com should be easy to use, and all listings in the What’s On calendar must comply with our guidelines.

We review all submissions before they are published. By following the guidelines outlined below, you make it easier for us to promote your event!

Here you’ll find a link to our registration form. Note that the form is in Norwegian only.

Guidelines for registration

Description

  • The description of the event or exhibition can be promotional, but should also be brief and to the point. One paragraph is often more than enough.
  • Avoid excessive use of adjectives, unnecessary biographical details, and similar content.
  • You’re welcome to include a link to a website in the text for further information.
  • The description must be written in the third person (i.e. do not use “we” or “I” when referring to the artist/organiser).
  • Please also provide a version of the description in British English. If the event is only relevant for Norwegian speakers, write a short note such as “Event in Norwegian.”
  • For exhibitions: Write in a way that’s accessible and engaging for a general audience. Our readers may not be familiar with art terminology. The description must include the name of the artist, the exhibition, and the venue.

Images

IMPORTANT! It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the rights both to use and to distribute any images you submit to VisitOSLO. We occasionally receive images that we do not have the proper licence to publish, and we are unable to verify image rights ourselves. If we are charged a fee for unauthorised use of an image, the full amount will be forwarded to you for payment.

  • All events must include at least one image.
  • We use a 3:2 image format, for example 1500 x 1000 pixels.
  • Avoid posters/images with text, as the text may be cropped out.
  • Uploaded images must be at least 1000 pixels wide.

Time and date

Cultural events and concerts

  • Please use the 24-hour clock when entering times (e.g. 18:00, not 6:00 p.m.).
  • If the event takes place on multiple days with different times, make sure to enter the correct time for each day by unchecking “Same time every day.”
  • If the event takes place on separate dates (e.g. one performance on 16 September and another on 1 October), use the “Add another opening time” function.

Exhibitions

  • Exhibitions listed in our calendar must run for a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of one year.
  • For exhibitions, we only use date ranges — no specific times. Enter the dates from the opening day through to the final day of the exhibition.
  • If the exhibition runs on non-consecutive days (e.g. one day on 16 September and another on 1 October), use the “Add another opening time” function.
